What are Dental Implants?
Posted On 19th Apr 2012 by drpaulmckay
Dental Implants are the most natural way to replace missing or badly broken down teeth that can no longer be restored. Dental implants are a tiny titanium screws which is placed within your gums and jaw where your natural bone regenerates and fuses to the dental implant. This allows an anchor for a replacement tooth to be attached. The whole process takes between 3 to 6months for the bone to fuse to the Dental Implant, an abutment is then placed and an impression is taken ready for your crown to be attached.
