Our Dentists are all members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the leading association in the world in Cosmetic Dentistry. We attempt to use the most advanced technology, materials and techniques available anywhere in the world today. We recently undertake microdentistry technology (minimal invasive dental techniques and preventative concepts) in the form of the WATERLASE™ Dental Laser. Our purpose-built premises of over 350 sq metres have an associated high technology laboratory for co-ordinated high quality dental technology services.
A Basis of General Dental Health
For an attractive and confident smile there needs to be a sound basis of the health of the teeth and gums. For Cosmetic and General Dentistry to be long-lasting it must be constructed using the principles of Functional Aesthetic Dentistry. This means we meticulously take into account the principles of how teeth bite together as well as the principles of beauty in smile design when creating a new Smile Masterpiece®.
A Personalised Preventive Program is emphasised, based on programs promoted by the University of Queensland and Adelaide University . In this way your new smile and general dentistry will not only look great, but will last for many years to come. New mouthwashes including the Caries Free are now proven to help prevent decay!
Microdentistry Principles
By using the principles of early decay detection with staining dyes and the DIAGNODENT™ microlaser, we are able to confirm the presence of early decay in teeth. We can then use minimal invasive technology such as the KREATIV™ MACH 5.0 Air Abrasion and WATERLASE™ Dental Laser, to prepare micropreparations in decay removal and adhesive white resins to restore these micropreparations. In many cases the basic structural anatomy of teeth is then better retained.
Instant Restorative Orthodontics
The instant orthodontic effect is the greatest innovation in Cosmetic Dentistry since the development of Veneers. Teeth can be straightened and gaps closed using a combination of high strength pressed porcelain EMPRESS™ veneers and crowns and sometimes PFM (porcelain fused to metal) crowns. This is usually achieved in only two main appointments. This concept has been developed to new levels in recent years, making surprisingly radical and natural looking changes possible. Continuing Education
Our highly skilled team all have considerable experience in the field of Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry. All Dentists and Staff undertake continuing education programs on a regular basis. All of our staff are dedicated to continuing education. Paul has completed an updated program in Dental Implant Placement and Restorative Considerations enabling more on-site comprehensive treatment in this area of Implant Prosthetic Dentistry at Smile Artistry™. Paul completed his Surgical Training Program for Dental Implant Placement in 2004. There is an ongoing program of in-house training. John has completed Endodontic Seminars in 2004 and 2005, improving predictability and comfort in Root Canal Treatment of Teeth. The Dentists are committed to provding excellence, and as such travel to Seattle, USA at least a few times a year to keep in touch with new technologies with Dr. John Kois.
Smile Artistry™ uses Personalised Smile Masterpiece® Design
Our initial consultation allows us to assess your needs and should you wish to proceed with a Smile Masterpiece™ design then a second appointment is scheduled. At this appointment we take into consideration your desires and preferences as well as taking impressions for tooth models, possible radiographs to assess your existing teeth, (underneath old fillings and between teeth etc), and take some photographs which are subsequently developed in slide format. Phonetic tests are also taken and this information together with the models, slides and radiographs provide the resources to develop a tailor-made treatment plan enabling us to create a Smile Masterpiece™ that suits you best. We use diagnostic wax modeling and computer imaging to provide a simulation of your smile where necessary.

Your will receive a detailed report of treatment options; and at this point financial options are discussed and we will respond fully and efficiently to enquiries. Improving one's dental health and smile is an important step and therefore the client should be fully informed and confident about all decisions they make.
Stress-Free Dentistry
Smile Artistry™ was established to make your Cosmetic, Implant and General Dentistry an enjoyable experience for both clients and staff alike. Treatments are made as comfortable as possible and we take time to be considerate of each individual's needs. Nitrous oxide gas (happy gas), pillows, blankets, refreshments and movies are available in all treatment rooms. No-needle air abrasion or laser dentistry can be used in selected situations. Our clients often comment on how relaxing they find the whole experience.
