Bridgework requires the adjacent teeth beside a missing tooth to be used for support of the replacement tooth. This means two crowns of the adjacent teeth and another crown joined between the other crowns if only one tooth is missing.
Careful assessment is necessary and we use combinations of Porcelain with metal or Zirconia Framework technology as there are few situations where pure porcelain technology displays sufficient strength for a long-term prognosis. New technology using milled zirconia is now possible to both structurally and cosmetically create a bridge.
