Responsible, professional dental care relies on providing a firm foundation on which we can base recommendations for your dental health. We consider a major part of our responsibility is to help our patients understand and plan for their oral health needs in the years ahead. This involves an understanding of preventive dentistry and the procedures necessary to remain free of dental decay and gum disease. We believe in providing our patients with comprehensive dental treatment plans to assist them in achieving their ideal dental health situation.
A new patient to our practice first visits for a comprehensive initial examination where the Dentist will spend time discussing areas of concern to the patient and then perform a full examination.
A full examination will usually involve taking digital x-rays of back teeth and sometimes additional x-rays depending on the patient and which treatment may be required. At Smile Artistry™ every new patient has a computerised Bacteria Reading taken from inside their mouth, giving our Dentists and Hygienists the ability to predict whether a patient has active Decay Forming Bacteria in their mouth. Dental Decay is a Bacterial Disease, and thus minimising the Bad Bacteria, minimises the risk of Dental Decay. The Dentists may also take digital photos and take impressions for patients in order to diagnose and provide a full treatment plan, and determine different treatment alternatives that can be offered.
The Hygiene Visit is an essential step for all patients, and particularly important when a Laserbrite™ Tooth Whitening procedure is to be performed during the treatment plan. Our Hygienists are trained to perform a very detailed clean of your teeth, and our patients are frequently commenting that they have never experienced such a comprehensive clean at other Dental Practices. They can map and record existing gum health status and allow us to target problem areas and track the progress of management of these areas.
Patients interested in Cosmetic Work are invited to make an appointment with a Dentist for a Cosmetic Consultation Appointment, where the Dentist will in detail discuss any Cosmetic Concerns the patient or Dentist may have and discuss treatments to correct their concerns.
