Lower Full Dentures can become uncomfortable when they have no fixation. When they have no way of fixating to the lower moving jaw, we commonly find patients to complain of difficulties in eating, chewing, and speech due to movement and lack of stability.
At Smile Artistry™ we find placing two or three Dental Implants underneath your Lower Full Denture can give a denture enough stability to chew again with confidence. The plate is connected to the implant using a locator attachment that is easily engaged and it remains easy to remove the plate and clean underneath twice daily.
Dental literature now dictates that the standard of care for patients with full lower denture plates is to have this treatment.
There are limitations in the anatomy of lower jaw structure, including tooth loss and bone volume loss, and position of the lower jaw's dental nerve. During your implant consultation Dr Paul McKay will refer you for proper Radiographic (X-Ray) Imaging to accurately determine the position of these strutures.
