Zoom 3™ Teeth Whitening can be performed in just over one hour at the dentist and dental hygienist where your teeth are whitened to their former whiter, lighter appearance. 

When evaluating Teeth Whitening Three Key Points are:

Compliance and convenience:  Zoom Teeth Whitening is completed in just 45 minutes of Teeth Whitening at the Dentist.  This is in comparison with Home Teeth Whitening which requires using trays and solutions for a two to three week period and can give temporary teeth sensitivity for a number of hours after each application.

Comfort: Zoom 3™ Teeth Whitening has dramatically improved the teeth whitening landscape.  Sensitivity is now minimised, but with any good teeth whitening system like Zoom 3™ you will experience temporary sensitivity for a few hours after your procedure.  This sensitivity can be minimised by using techniques to de-sensitise the teeth both before and after the procedure, and Dental Hygienists with good experience will know how improve your comfort.

Cost: The Cost should be economical, yet include a Home Tooth Whitening Kit so that you can maintain your white teeth in the future.  Beware that GST will be charged on your teeth whitening procedure and this should be included in the advertised cost.

Current teeth whitening advertising can be quite confusing and somewhat misleading. 

From our experience of performing more than 1000 Teeth Whitening Procedures, we find that the light sources DO MAKE A LARGE DIFFERENCE by simple things as close positioning of the light to the applied whitening gel as well as the type of light source. Dr Christiansen also stated in his lecture that LASERS ARE NOT MORE EFFECTIVE.  In recent years Lasers in Dentistry has peaked and is now in decline as they typically have a longer treatment time and their results not as long lasting. 

Most Dentist applied Teeth Whitening Systems will achieve similar results, but it is the time, comfort, follow-up systems which may vary from Dentist to Dentist.  The non-dentist teeth whitening systems are not professional, dangerous and we treat many patients who were unhappy with the results.

Another Recent trend is for Beauty Salons, and Dental Practices to heavily discount their whitening process.  This is in part a special, but when you take a close look into the discount, it is usual to find that the offer for discounted teeth whitening will NOT include a take-home, follow-up, complimentary home care reboost whitening kits and the GST is added on at the end!

A complimentary home maintenance system should be provided to boost the whitening effect for special occasions (e.g. Weddings etc) and at intervals of six to nine months.

We have recently noticed an increase in Beauty Salons performing teeth whitening.  This is a risky proposition in our opinion, because Beauty Therapists are NOT trained to correctly diagnose,discuss, warn of, or treat the results/risks of teeth whitening for individual people. Furthermore, only Dental/Medical Practices can legally provide you with dental care, and it is currently that when you visit the Beauty Salon you do so at your risk.  The Salon will ensure that you, yourself apply the solutions and light sources, so that the Beauty Therapist is not legally involved, they just provide a room and the materials!

The best teeth whitening results are achieved when you have recently had a thorough clean and check-up at the dentist and dental hygienist.

NEWS! October 2009 - A Victoria Court has successful convicted a Beauty Therapist for providing Teeth Whitening Treatments.  In the case the client suffered chemical burns to her lips and gums and damage to the teeth.  The Therapist was fined and this case will help the Dental Board of Queensland to protect people in Queensland who want to have their teeth whitened.  ► Read more
